SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Two weeks into 2026, only North Dakota State and South Dakota State remain unbeaten in league play, sitting at 4-0 and 3-0, respectively. Since beginning the season 2-2, the Bison are riding a 13-game winning streak, their longest since the 2004-05 season, while the Jackrabbits have won three straight.
This week’s action begins Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT, as North Dakota opens the week at South Dakota.
Atop the league standings, the Bison and Jackrabbits will face off Saturday, Jan. 17, with tipoff scheduled for 2 p.m. CT in Brookings.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
• North Dakota State defeated Kansas City (77-54) and Omaha (94-39) to open league play 4-0 for the third straight season while extending its league-best win streak to 13 games.
• With a 15-2 record, the Bison have now hit the 15-win mark in four straight seasons.
• The 13-game winning streak is NDSU’s longest since the 2004-05 season, when the Bison won 24 straight at the Division II level.
• Junior forward Avery Koenen led the way for NDSU in wins over Kansas City and Omaha, tying a career best with 16 rebounds in both games.
• South Dakota State joined NDSU as the league’s lone unbeaten teams following a 103-76 home win over Oral Roberts.
• In the win, the Jackrabbits unleashed a three-point barrage, with eight different players knocking down a triple as SDSU set a program record with 19 three-pointers.
• Preseason Player of the Year Brooklyn Meyer led all players with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting along with seven boards in the win over Oral Roberts.
• SDSU poured in 32 points in the first quarter and 33 in the third, marking the team’s two highest-scoring quarters of the season.
• South Dakota junior Molly Joyce scored 21 points in a wire-to-wire 72-65 road win at St. Thomas, marking her third straight game with 20-plus points.
• Senior transfer Josie Hill notched 14 points for the Yotes, matching her season-high.
• The victory pushed USD to 2-1 in league play and improved its all-time record against the Tommies to 8-2.
• Oral Roberts captured a key road win at South Dakota, 83-61, as sophomore Azailah Funches scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
• Two days later, ORU freshman guard Bella Edwards scored a career-high 13 points, all in the second quarter, as the Golden Eagles fell to South Dakota State in the second game of their South Dakota road trip.
• Kansas City split its road trip last week, falling at North Dakota State 77-54 before topping North Dakota 77-56.
• In the loss, the Bennett sisters scored 27 points combined, including all 17 first-quarter points for Kansas City.
• KC senior Zaire Harrell had a career day in the win over the Fighting Hawks, scoring a game-high 22 points, matching her career best.
• Kansas City forced 24 turnovers in the win, marking the most in a league game since defeating Omaha last season.
• St. Thomas clinched its first league win on Thursday in an overtime thriller against Denver (74-65).
• The Tommies were led by grad transfer Jada Hood, who matched a career-high with 22 points in the win while adding five rebounds and five assists.
• The Pioneers fell short in each of their games this past week, dropping games to North Dakota State and St. Thomas.
• DU’s Coryn Watts and Laia Monclova led the offense against UST with 17 points each, while Monclova also tacked on 10 rebounds to collect the first double-double of her career.
• After trailing in the first quarter, North Dakota defeated Omaha 75-54 on Thursday to collect its first conference win of the season.
