Jackrabbits sweep Kwik Star #SummitGF weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A pair of South Dakota State juniors swept the latest Kwik Star #SummitGF Peak Golfer of the Week accolades as McKenzie Mages earned the female honor and Bryson Mercier secured the male honor, League officials announced Friday.

Both golfers captured medalist honors at the event hosted by South Dakota State at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

Mages posted a 54-hole total of 213 (-3) to win the women’s title as she nearly broke the program’s single-round record, missing it by two strokes after carding a 66 (-6). She also fired a closing 71 (-1) to giver a pair of sub-par rounds as the Jackrabbits held off North Dakota State by nine strokes to earn the team title for the second straight season.

The Sioux Falls, S.D., native tied for the third in the 92-player field with 12 birdies. She made half of those during a bogey-free second round.
