#SummitMSOC Week 12 Notes: Quarterfinal Edition

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- If the final day of the regular season was any indication of what's ahead in the 2026 Summit League Men's Soccer Championship, fans are in for an exciting postseason as six teams prepare to compete for the conference crown for the first time in League history.

Kansas City secured its second consecutive Summit League regular-season title, finishing conference play with a 4-1 record and 12 points. The Roos won their first four league matches before closing the regular season with a 4-0 setback at Omaha. Despite the loss, Kansas City secured the No. 1 seed and will host both semifinal matches and the championship match.

Omaha earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye after closing the regular season with a historic performance against the Roos. The Mavericks' 4-0 victory over No. 5 Kansas City marked the highest-ranked win in program history and provided a strong finish to conference play. Omaha will face the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between No. 4 Oral Roberts and No. 5 St. Thomas in the semifinals.

The remaining quarterfinal matchup features No. 3 Massachusetts and No. 6 Delaware. The Minutemen enter the postseason after defeating the Blue Hens 4-1 in the regular-season finale. UMass is making its first appearance in the Summit League Championship but brings postseason experience from its 2024 NCAA Elite Eight run. Delaware, meanwhile, is making its second consecutive postseason appearance after earning the No. 3 seed a season ago before falling to Kansas City in the semifinals.

The quarterfinal round marks a historic addition to the Summit League Men's Soccer Championship, with Oral Roberts hosting St. Thomas on Friday and Massachusetts hosting Delaware on Saturday. The winners will advance to Kansas City for the semifinal round on Nov. 11, with the championship match set for Nov. 14. All quarterfinal matches will be streamed live on the Summit League Network.
