SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State senior McKenzie Mages and Kansas City sophomore Mason Haley earned this week’s Kwik Star #SummitGF Peak Golfer of the Week honors, League officials announced Thursday. Mages racked up her fifth career women’s award, while Haley collected the fourth of his career.
Mages captured the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational title with a program-record 212 (-4) three-round total, playing 12 holes under par for the tournament and recording one eagle along the way. The senior opened the event with a 5-under 67, her lowest round of the week, setting the tone for the victory.
The win marked the Sioux Falls, S.D., native’s second of the season and fourth of her career, ranking second in program history for career victories, while also notching the 14th top-10 finish of her career, tied for fifth all-time at SDSU.
Haley tied for third at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational with a 54-hole total of 206 (-10), recording 17 birdies on the week, including six across the second and third rounds. The Enid, Okla., native posted under-par scores in all three rounds and closed the event with a tournament-best 68 (-4).
The tied-for-third result marked the third top-three finish of the season for the sophomore.
