SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver sophomore Logan Hale and North Dakota junior Nathan Peyerl were named the latest Kwik Star #SummitGF Peak Golfers of the Week, League officials announced Thursday. Hale tallied her third career women’s award, while Peyerl earned his second.
Hale finished with a share of third place at the More Than Golf Invitational with a 54-hole score 220 (+1). After back-to-back rounds of 72 (+1) to open the invitational, the sophomore played her best golf in the final lap of the tournament, closing with a 72 (-1) after shooting 3-under on the back nine.
Hale carded seven birdies during the event and added an eagle in the final round to secure the top-three finish, while also pushing the Pioneers to a fourth place team-finish out of 12 squads.
Peyerl placed fourth at the Colin Montgomerie-HCU Invitational with a 54-hole total of 208 (-5), just one stroke shy of matching his career-best tournament score. He fired two rounds under 70 during the event, including an opening-round 68.
The finish marked the fourth top-five result of the West Fargo, N.D., native’s career and helped North Dakota secure a tie for fourth place in the team standings at the tournament.
