SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha senior Katie Ruge and St. Thomas senior Owen Rexing were tabbed the latest Kwik Star #SummitGF Peak Golfers of the Week, League officials announced Thursday. Ruge secured the weekly honor for the fifth time in her career, while Rexing earned his first.
Ruge captured the title at the 2026 Stampede at the Creek, finishing at 4-over for the tournament. The Omaha, Neb., native carded rounds of 69 (-3), 78 (+6) and 73 (+1), while totaling eight birdies and leading the field with a 4.07 scoring average on par-4 holes.
Ruge’s performance helped pace Omaha, as fellow Maverick Emily Karmazin climbed 10 spots on the final day to finish runner-up, giving the Mavericks a strong 1-2 finish at the event.
This week’s award marks the final women’s weekly award of the season as teams prepare for the Summit League Championships next weekend.
Rexing led the Tommies to a fourth-place team finish at the Robert Kepler Invitational, placing ninth individually with a trio of under-par rounds. The senior opened the tournament with a 69 (-3) before following with back-to-back rounds of 71 (-1), notching 12 birdies and an eagle across the 54 holes.
The Inver Grove Heights, Minn., native’s consistent play throughout the event helped pace St. Thomas, as he recorded three rounds below par to secure the top-10 finish.
Rexing also became the second Tommie in three weeks to garner the award.
