SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A combined 11 student-athletes, split between five women and six men, earned spots on the 2026 Golf Academic All-League Teams for their excellence in the classroom and strong performances throughout the 2026 golf season, league officials announced Thursday.
For the women, North Dakota State’s Madi Hicks and South Dakota State’s McKenzie Mages each earned their third career Academic All-League selections, while Omaha’s Emily Karmazin collected the honor for the second time in her career. Hicks was also named the Women’s Scholar of the Championship presented by JLG Architects prior to the championship.
Rounding out the women’s honorees were Oral Roberts sophomore Anna Swan and St. Thomas junior Kathryn VanArragon, who both garnered the accolade for the first time.
On the men’s side, North Dakota’s Kagan Kollar and North Dakota State’s Rylin Petry each secured their second career Academic All-League honors. Petry was joined by senior teammate Gabe Benson, who claimed the distinction for the first time in his career.
Kansas City’s Luke Leonetti, Oral Roberts’ Ben Gratzl, and South Dakota’s Parker Etzel, the Men’s Scholar of the Championship, rounded out the men’s selections, with all three earning Academic All-League honors for the first time.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of his team's competitions.
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league's eleven institutions and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and facility athletic representatives (FARs). The team is made up of the five student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
