Women’s Swimming & Diving - February 21

Denver extends #SummitSD championship streak to 13 straight titles

Denver continued its dominance by capturing its 13th consecutive Summit League championship while also collecting five individual awards at the championship meet. Head coach Alicia Hicken-Franklin earned her seventh straight Women’s Swimming Coach of the Year honor, while diving coach Aaron D’Addario was named Diving Coach of the Year for the seventh consecutive season.

Men’s Swimming & Diving - February 21

Denver claims fifth straight #SummitSD men's title

Denver’s men captured their fifth consecutive Summit League Swimming and Diving Championship. South Dakota finished runner-up for the second straight year, led by Swimming Championship MVP and Swimmer of the Year Nick Rounds and Swimming Coach of the Year Jason Mahowald, who earned his second career Coach of the Year honor and first since 2020-21.

South Dakota State head coach Aaron Johnston recorded his 650th career win with a 71-55 victory over Denver, adding another milestone to his long-standing tenure leading the Jackrabbits.

The Bison women captured their 17th Summit League Indoor Track & Field Championship in the last 19 years.

Mülla, Willis, and Keeler qualify for NCAA Indoor Championships

South Dakota’s Marleen Mülla and Anna Willis, along with North Dakota’s Jadyn Keeler, earned qualification to the NCAA Indoor Championships following standout performances in the pole vault and 5,000-meter run throughout the 2025-26 Indoor season.

North Dakota’s Greyson Uelmen sets #SummitMBB tournament freshman scoring record

North Dakota’s Greyson Uelmen scored 41 points during an 83-67 quarterfinal-round win over No. 6 Denver in the Summit League Men’s Basketball Championship. The Fighting Hawk rookie set a new tournament record for points scored by a freshman in a single game.

South Dakota State won its fourth straight Summit League Women's Basketball Championship as Championship MVP Brooklyn Meyer racked up tournament titles in each of her four seasons with the Jackrabbits.

Men's Basketball - March 8

North Dakota State returns to the NCAA Tournament

North Dakota State captured its first Summit League Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth since 2019-20. Guided by Coach of the Year David Richman, the Bison finished 27-8 overall and 14-2 in League play while suffering just one home loss all season.

Women’s Indoor Track & Field - March 13

Mülla, Willis earn First Team All-America honors; Keeler collects Second Team honors

South Dakota’s Marleen Mülla and Anna Willis went on to earn First Team All-America honors with second- and third-place finishes, while North Dakota’s Jadyn Keeler secured Second Team All-America honors with a 12th-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field - March 14

North Dakota State’s Zach McGlynn earns First Team All-America honors, NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award

North Dakota State’s Zach McGlynn qualified for the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon, where he earned First Team All-America honors. McGlynn was also recognized with the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award as the competitor with the highest cumulative grade-point average at the national meet.

Women’s Basketball - March 15

Summit League sends three teams to postseason for second straight year

For the second consecutive season, the Summit League placed three women's basketball teams in postseason play. South Dakota State represented the league in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year, while regular season champion North Dakota State earned a berth to the WBIT, where it picked up one win. South Dakota made the deepest run of the League's postseason teams, making the WNIT semifinals before falling to Illinois State.

Men's Basketball - March 15

St. Thomas reaches first Division I postseason

St. Thomas tied its best Summit League finish since transitioning to Division I with a 12-4 conference record. The Tommies also made program history by earning their first berth to a Division I postseason event, receiving an invitation to the NIT.

Avery Koenen earns AP honorable mention All-America honors

Avery Koenen was named an honorable mention All-American by the AP, earning national recognition following a standout season for North Dakota State.

North Dakota State’s Jory Collins named Kay Yow National Coach of the Year

North Dakota State head coach Jory Collins was named the recipient of the 2026 Kay Yow National Coach of the Year award, presented annually to the top NCAA Division I women’s head coach who exemplifies a winning spirit and outstanding character on and off the court.

South Dakota put together an impressive postseason run in the WNIT, winning three games to advance to the Fab 4 before falling to Illinois State.
