SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha’s Nicole Hansen and Western Illinois’ David Ayala claimed the latest TicketSmarter #SummitGF Peak Golfer of the Week accolades, League officials announced Thursday. Both golfers captured medalist honors at their respective Western Illinois Invitationals hosted the TPC at Deere Run.

Hansen won the women’s individual title by five strokes and helped Omaha to the first team title in program history after shooting a 54-hole total of 221 (+8). It was the second career collegiate victory for the Nebraska transfer.

The Bloomingdale, Ill., native led the 35-player field with seven birders and in par-3 and par-4 scoring.

Ayala edged fellow Summit League golfer Carter Doose (Omaha) by a stroke to earn medalist honors with a 54-hole total of 213 (E).

The Bogota, Columbia native closed with a 69 (-2) to erase a three-stroke deficit entering the final round. He played the par-5’s in four-under par and shared the lead in par-4 scoring at plus-two.
