SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – With the 2026 Summit League Women’s Basketball Championship just under two weeks away, the standings are starting to solidify, yet the race is far from over.
North Dakota State remains undefeated in conference play at 12-0, riding a 21-game winning streak; which is the second longest in the country only trailing No. 1 UConn. Sitting atop the CollegeInsider Mid-Major Top 25 poll, the Bison host St. Thomas Thursday at 7 p.m. CT before traveling Saturday to face South Dakota. The Yotes are currently tied for second in the Summit League standings with South Dakota State.
This week’s slate kicks off tonight with Kansas City hosting Denver for a 7 p.m. tipoff.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
• North Dakota State extended its win streak to 21 games with an 87-51 victory over in-state rival North Dakota on Sunday in Grand Forks.
• The 21-game winning streak is NDSU’s longest since the 2004-05 season, when the Bison won 24 straight at the Division II level, and currently ranks as the second-longest active streak in the nation behind UConn (43).
• Junior forward Avery Koenen was dominant against the Fighting Hawks, tying a season-best with 29 points and adding 13 rebounds to record her 17th double-double of the season, tied for third nationally.
• The victory marked NDSU’s 23rd win of the season, the most in the program’s Division I era and its highest total since the 2004-05 campaign.
• South Dakota notched its fifth straight win with a 70-65 overtime victory over Kansas City in its lone game of the week.
• The Yotes trailed for more than 35 minutes in the win and were paced by freshman Tori Schlagel, who scored a career-high 17 points.
• South Dakota State put together a dominant week, routing North Dakota 94-48 and Kansas City 93-40 in Brookings.
• Earlier this week, Koenen and Meyer were named amongst the 10 semifinalists for the 2026 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award.
• On Friday (Feb. 6) Meyer was named a top-10 candidate for the Lisa Leslie National Center of the Year award by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
• In the win over the Roos, sophomore Emilee Fox recorded a career-best 26 points on 7-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc.
• Oral Roberts split the week, falling 71-66 at St. Thomas before rebounding with a 76-55 home win over Denver on Saturday.
• Freshman Kayten Donley led the Golden Eagles in scoring in the win over the Pios with a career-high 23 points and seven rebounds.
• Sophomore Anna Trusty and redshirt senior Jalei Oglesby joined Donley in double figures, finishing with 11 and 18 points, respectively.
• In the win over ORU, Alyssa Sand recorded 15 points and 15 rebounds for her eighth double-double, setting a single-season DI-era record for St. Thomas.
• Sand also tallied two steals, setting a new St. Thomas DI-era single-season record in that category.
• Kansas City dropped both games on its South Dakota road trip against the Coyotes and Jackrabbits.
• KC guard Tierra Trotter led the way against USD with a game-high 20 points as the Roos pushed the Coyotes into overtime.
• Denver’s losing streak extended to six games following losses to Omaha and Oral Roberts.
• Sophomore guard Coryn Watts paced the Pioneers in scoring in both games, notching 25 points against the Mavericks and 15 against the Golden Eagles.
• North Dakota lost both games last week, falling first at South Dakota State and then at home to NDSU on Sunday.
• Graduate Mackenzie Hughes scored 22 points against the Bison, marking her seventh straight game in double-figures.
• Omaha secured its second league victory and first road win of the season on Wednesday with a 65-58 triumph over Denver.
• Graduate guard Sarai Estupinan scored 15 of her team-high 24 points in the final five minutes of the victory.
• Regan Juenemann and Ali Stephens in double figures with 16 points and 13 points, respectively.
