Erland's second-half goal lifts third-seeded Omaha past sixth-seeded North Dakota

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Omaha's Emilie Erland broke a scoreless tie with her left-footed strike in the 82nd minute to lift the third-seeded Mavericks past sixth-seeded North Dakota in a #SummitWSOC quarterfinal match played Friday night at Fishback Soccer Park. It marks the third straight semifinal appearance for Omaha, who pushed its unbeaten streak to five consecutive matches with the victory.

After a scoreless first half in which they only got one shot off on goal, the Fighting Hawks had a pair of decent scoring chances after the break, but Mia Reedtz made saves on both of those attempts.

The Mavericks put three of their six first-half shots on goal, but UND's Madi Livingston was able to keep Omaha off the scoreboard until Erland broke through with her third goal of the season. Grace Crockett and Sophia Green were credited with assists on the goal.

Omaha will play No. 2 seed South Dakota State in a semifinal match Sunday with kickoff set for 3 p.m. CT on the Jackrabbits' home field.
