SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – With regular season play in the books, North Dakota State emerged with its first regular season title since 2016. The Bison put together a 6-1-1 ledger, accumlating a league-best 19 points and will host the 2024 Summit League Women's Soccer Championship semifinals and title match.
Before the final four teams arrive in Fargo, two quarterfinal matches will be played this weekend to see who will join the top-seeded Bison and No. 2 seed Denver.
The first of those quarterfinals will feature No. 6 seed South Dakota against No. 3 seed South Dakota State on Friday, Nov. 1. Kickoff at the Fishback Soccer Stadium in Brookings is set for 6 p.m. CT. The second quarterfinal will pit No. 5 seed Oral Roberts against No. 4 seed Omaha on the Mavericks' home field at Caniglia Field.
Both quarterfinal games are rematches of regular season tilts that ended in 1-1 draws. South Dakota and South Dakota State played to their draw on Oct. 11 in Brookings, while ORU and Omaha played to their draw on Oct. 20 in Tulsa.
South Dakota and SDSU have never met in Division I postseason play, while the ORU-Omaha tilt is a rematch of the 2022 title game. The teams played to a 0-0 draw and the Mavericks won the trophy with a 3-1 edge in penalty kicks.
