#SummitWSOC Weekly Notebook: Championship Edition (Nov. 6)

FARGO, N.D. -- A Summit League Women's Soccer Tournament champion will be crowned in Fargo as the final four teams embark on Decotah Field for a pair of semifinals Thursday and a title game Sunday.

The top-seeded Bison earned the right to host by securing their first regular season title since 2016, while No. 2 seed Denver is looking to snap a three-year drought since winning its last title in 2020. NDSU, who did not qualify for the six-team event a season ago, is seeking the program's first title in 2010.

No. 3 seed South Dakota State and No. 5 seed Oral Roberts both have a game under their belt after those squads each secured a quarterfinal-victory last weekend. The Jackrabbits, who are the reigning tournament champions, rallied for a 2-1 double-overtime triumph over sixth-seeded and in-state rival South Dakota.

The Golden Eagles posted a road shutout, defeating No. 4 seed Omaha 2-0 last Saturday at Caniglia Field on the UNO campus. ORU has now won a tournament game in three consecutive seasons and looking to bring a postseason trophy back to campus for the first time since 2004.

Thursday's semifinals and Sunday's title match will all stream live on the Summit League Network.
